Did you start getting ready for Christmas in October or did you leave it all to the last minute? However you prepared for Christmas last year we were here to make sure the decorating, cooking, shopping and hosting was fun, easy and full of festive cheer.
Decorations that added a touch of glamour, flourishes for your dinner table and ideas for getting the kids involved, we had Christmas 2011 all wrapped up.
Last year we had a vintage inspired Deck the Halls collection complete with traditional red and white decorations. For the kids there were the playful characters in our Jingle Bell Rock look, and for the grown ups there were the icy silvers and shimmering blues in our Midwinter Frost collection or our Opulent Christmas collection which featured glamorous purples, metallics and a sprinkling of sequins.
Whoever you were buying for, we had a great range of exciting and inspiring Christmas gift ideas in 2011. From DVDs, beauty treats, books, clothing, cameras, toys, cooking equipment, games and unique gift experiences. Come back closer to Christmas and see what's in store for 2012.
Were you short of cutlery, crockery or glasses on the big day last year? Maybe you got your festive tablecloth out only to find the moths had made a feast of it. Why not check what you've got in your cupboards and drawers now, and stock up on tableware essentials so you don't get caught short again? Or come back closer to Christmas and see what's new for 2012.
Kids love Christmas so last year we suggested you get them to help you make your own Christmas cards. It was a great way of keeping them occupied and you ended up with something you could send out to all your friends and family. We recommended keeping the design simple - cutting out a Christmas tree, bauble or crown to stick onto the card. And going easy on the glitter.
Festive gift wrap, boxes, tags and ribbon, last year we had everything you needed to make those Christmas gifts sparkle on the outside. If you didn't want to make your own Christmas cards we also had a fantastic range to choose from, and for every card we sold, we made a donation to two great causes. FareShare the charity that helps tackle hunger and reduce food waste by redistributing surplus food, and Comic Relief the charity that works to change the lives of poor and disadvantaged people. And after Christmas we even offered an instore recycling service.
Did you find yourself rummaging in the garage and loft for extra chairs and bedding for unexpected guests last year? It’s never too soon to get your house in order. So why not do it now? And when they arrive next Christmas you’ll really be able to enjoy yourself.
