Out comes the sun and we all reach for ice cream. Its rich and irresistible flavours make this a dessert for all seasons. Why not give one of our ideas a go?
Our by Sainsbury's Cornish ice cream is rich and creamy all on its own, but if you're after a fruity finish try serving it with warmed berry compote - ideal for a winter treat. Or give finely chopped kiwi fruit and strawberries a go. For a quick, easy dessert with a difference, drizzle over good quality balsamic vinegar. Delicious.
Clotted cream is made by heating up cows' milk then letting it gently cool down, so the cream rises to the top and clots.
Pick up any of our one-litre dairy ice cream tubs and you'll find they're all made with British milk.
Fancy something fruity? All our fruit-flavoured sorbets and ice lollies use either real fruit juice or purée.
Cornwall is probably best known for its pasties, but ice cream is also a local speciality Its distinctively pale yellow in colour and deliciously rich in flavour. A key ingredient is Cornish clotted cream, which has protected geographical status – so it can’t be made anywhere else. The same can be said for our ice cream – it’s the only own-label Cornish ice cream actually made in Cornwall.
