Our Local Charity scheme

We had a great response to this year's Local Charity nominations - thank you to everyone who took part. All of our stores and depots have now selected their Local Charity for the next year. So, next time you're shopping with us, make sure you look out for ways to show your support.

What is our Local Charity scheme?

For the past four years, our stores have partnered with a local charity of their choice. Every May, our customers and colleagues nominate their favourite charity. The one selected becomes the store's Local Charity and is supported over the next 12 months through fundraising and volunteering.

Why do we do it?

Our Local Charity scheme gives customers and colleagues the chance to work together to support a local cause at the heart of the community. It means you can play an important part in helping the most vulnerable people in your community. Our fundraising takes many forms - from dressing up to running marathons. Check out our case studies above for some great examples.

Local Charity fact file:

  • Our Local Charity scheme began in 2009 and since then, we've helped thousands of charities across the UK

  • As of this year, there are three ways you can make a nomination for your Local Charity: at your local store, at home, or online.
  • Our colleagues have given 7,000  days of their time to volunteer to help those in need

Although our Local Charity nominations are closed for this year, we still need your help. Your local store will be fundraising for its Local Charity, so please support its fundraising activities and charity events any way you can.
