Take a journey down our wine aisle

Buying wine should be a pleasurable experience, not a mystery tour. That's why we've come up with a system that'll make it simpler than ever to choose your perfect tipple.

What's your style?

Choosing a bottle of wine from the hundreds on offer can be a bit daunting. And if you do pick one up, how do you know you'll like it? That's why we've come up with a new colour-coded wine-labelling system. It's designed to make choosing wine simpler, and to help you explore a bit more, safe in the knowledge that if you've liked a bottle in one colour group, you'll like another.

Choosing white wines

Crisp _and _delicateIf you're after a light and easy drink, try the refreshing flavours of our award-winning House Soave.

Meal matches. These fragrant wines are the perfect match for fish, seafood and light salads, or to give a refreshing lift to a rich cheese dish.

Soft _and _fruityThese wines are packed with ripe fruit notes - perfect if you don't like your wine too dry. Try our Australian Chardonnay.

Meal matches. Ripe and bold, these wines work well with strongly flavoured dishes. Try them with smoked fish, buttery roast chicken or pork. For an exciting twist, pair with spicy Asian cuisine.

Complex _and _elegantLooking for something fuller in style and richer in flavour? Taste the Difference Albarino is a good place to start.

Meal matches. Add a little extra to the finest meal - enjoy the complex flavours of these wines by matching with other delicately flavoured food like seafood, creamy pasta and risotto.

Sweet _wineYou can't beat sipping a luscious pudding wine when you're eating something sweet. Why not give our award-winning Moscatel de Valencia a go?

Meal matches. Something so sweet deserves an equally indulgent partner. Try with a tangy lemon tart or rich fruit cake for an indulgent finish to your meal.

Choosing red wines

Light _and _fruityEasy drinking and light bodied, if you like juicy berry flavours, try our House Valpolicella.

Meal matches. These wines are versatile when it comes to food matching. Perfect with a simple tomato pasta sauce, pizza or roast ham, they work well with dishes that'd be overpowered by heavier reds.

Smooth _and _mellowWines in this category, like our Rioja Reciente, are juicy and full of ripe fruit flavours.

Meal matches. These soft silky reds make a great match for a hearty casserole or family favourites like spaghetti bolognese, sausages and mash, or lasagne.

Rich _and _complexThese are powerful, full bodied and intensely flavoured. Sound good? Try our Taste the Difference Barossa Shiraz, a blockbuster of a wine.

Meal matches. The bold flavours of these reds require a powerful food combination. Try with rich beef stew or roast red meat. If you're feeling like a treat, their complex flavours will add excitement to a simple fillet steak.

Did you know...

  • 1

Removing the cork to help wine 'breathe' actually has little effect. You're better off swirling it around in the glass.

  • 2

You should be able to keep opened wine for up to three days. After that it starts to oxidise - time to use it in your cooking.

  • 3

Our wines don't need to be aged: we design them to be in perfect drinking condition when you pick them from our shelf. But if you are keeping a bottle for a while, lie it on its side. It'll stop the cork from drying out and letting air in, which will spoil the lovely wine inside.
